Snowfall

Her skin is winter

The snow that makes time stop

She doesn’t mean to make it cold

But all around her is frost

And it won’t melt away

Her lips provide warmth

For just one brief moment

She can see through all of her pain

But the warmth they bring is fleeting

And she’s alone again

But she doesn’t know

That her smile’s contagious

And she’s stronger than she thinks

Despite all of her heartache

She will surely pull through

Growing up’s not fun

And she’s had her share of pain

But it won’t be long until

The sun comes out, and winter

Is just a memory.
