When Young

We used to meet on the park

I told you it was close

To where I lived

But I had to walk

For an hour

I would try to keep you warm

In the early morning

With my body

It was so cold then

But worth it

If I got to taste your lips

While we tried not to freeze

I had something

To keep myself warm

The whole night

If I didn’t kiss your mouth

I was still overjoyed

Because I’d spent

The night with the girl

That I loved
