Chinanski

I don’t want to be Bukowski

I want to be Fallon

And listen to music with you

As we laugh and smoke

And drink wine.

But like Chinanski

I fall short

And wind up delusional

Smelling like cheap wine

And stale cigarettes.

I realise that even Fallon

Doesn’t get to be Fallon

Long nights on the bus

An empty bed bunk

Away from Maria.

I’ve read a lot of Bukowski. Read a lot of Henry Chinanski I believe it is henry. Betting on the Muse, a posthumous collection of his poems, is the best one I’ve read. I loved the novel “Women.”
