The Commute

Shelter me it’s colder now,
The rain has started to fall.
My mind wants to find out how,
Shifts in season control all.
My mind feels like it will crack
From the weight placed upon it.
I doubt there is a way back,
Certainly not in sonnet.

But your breath it warms my soul
As you take me in your arms,
And protect me from the storm.
Wrapped together I am whole,
With you there are no alarms.
My heart is kept safe and warm.
