The Lizard Lounge – rough cut

I can’t remember how long I’ve been here
A thousand Friday nights or more
Soaking myself in venom
Down at the lizard lounge
I can’t lie to myself
It gave me pleasure
Feeling the burn of liquor
Underneath my scales
But I can never be sure
Who’s enjoying it more
The sweet venom, or me.
Keeping track of time isn’t easy
With poison behind a chamber door
But I’ve got my bright lights
And I’m all the company I need
Soaking myself in venom
Down at the lizard lounge
